Refrigerant Charging in Riyadh

An air conditioner does not consume refrigerant. If it is low, there is a leak — and charging without fixing the leak means paying again in a few months.

This is where customers get exploited most in the AC trade. Refrigerant is not fuel that burns off; it circulates in a sealed circuit. If it is low, there is a leak somewhere. Anyone who tops up your gas without looking for the leak has guaranteed themselves another visit in a few months.

We find the leak first

We check joints, flares, valves, and evaporator and condenser coils with an electronic detector or bubble solution. Locating and repairing the leak is the real fix; charging comes after.

Charging to the correct weight

Overcharging is as damaging as undercharging: it raises discharge pressure and strains the compressor. We charge by weight per the unit data plate and verify with pressure and subcooling readings.

Refrigerant types

We handle R22 in older units and R410A and R32 in modern ones. We never mix types or substitute one for another without modifying the circuit, because that destroys the compressor.

When we advise against charging

If the leak is in the evaporator coil itself and the unit is old, we will tell you plainly that repair is not worth it, rather than charge it again and again for nothing.

What is included

  • Leak detection before charging, always
  • Charged by weight per the data plate
  • Verified with pressure readings after charging
  • R22, R410A and R32 handled
  • Leak repaired, not masked
  • Honest advice when repair is not worth it

Questions about this service

Will you just top up the gas without finding the leak?

No. Charging alone means you call us again in a few months, and that is not how we work. We locate and repair the leak first, then charge. It extends the life of the unit and saves you repeat visits.

How often does an AC need refrigerant topped up?

Never, under normal conditions. The circuit is sealed and refrigerant is not consumed. If you need repeat charging, you have an unrepaired leak.

How do I know my AC is low on refrigerant?

Common signs: gradually weakening cooling, ice forming on the copper line or evaporator, and the unit running for long periods without reaching the set temperature. Only measurement confirms it.

Can R22 be replaced with R410A?

Not directly. Pressures and oils differ, and substituting without modifying circuit components damages the compressor. We explain the options for your specific unit.
